Love Dentistry is a certified oral sedation office. Our patients can opt to take a prescription sedative about one hour before their appointment, and feel like they’re daydreaming for the next few hours. Even though you’ll be able to respond to simple questions, you most likely won’t remember a single thing!
Nitrous oxide sedation is an inhaled sedative that creates a relaxed sensation from head to toe. If you choose nitrous oxide, you’ll still be fully conscious, but won’t care as much about what’s going on. You’ll also have a decreased pain response!
Intravenous sedation is hospital-grade sedation that is administered by our partnering nurse anesthetist. The effects of IV sedation allow the medication to take effect very quickly, while maintaining the safest level of deep sedation. Once Dr. Love or Dr. Mitchell has completed your treatment, the medication is turned off. Within a few minutes, full consciousness is regained.
